Getting to Natchez

For generations, travelers have made the journey to Natchez because there simply isn't another place quite like it. Today, getting here is easier than ever.

Fly Direct to Natchez

The return of commercial air service to Natchez is one of the most exciting developments in our city's recent history. Beginning July 1, 2026, United Express, operated by SkyWest Airlines, offers daily nonstop service between Houston George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) and Natchez-Adams County Airport (HEZ). In less than an hour, visitors can travel from one of the world's largest airline hubs to one of America's most historic destinations, with seamless connections available from hundreds of cities across the United States and around the globe.

Even better, you'll be greeted by a familiar face upon arrival. The Natchez-Adams County Airport is led by Airport Director Carl Beasley, a valued member of the Living History Natchez family. Whether you're arriving for our Tour of Homes, a weekend getaway, or simply to explore one of America's oldest settlements, you'll receive a warm Mississippi welcome from the moment your plane touches down.

The return of scheduled commercial service is more than a convenience. It reconnects Natchez to the world and makes experiencing our remarkable history easier than ever before.

The Natchez Trace Parkway

Of course, some journeys are just as memorable as the destination.

The Natchez Trace Parkway is one of America's most scenic drives, following nearly 450 miles of the historic travel corridor once used by Native Americans, explorers, traders, soldiers, and early settlers. Stretching from Nashville, Tennessee, to its southern terminus in Natchez, the Parkway offers breathtaking forests, historic sites, hiking trails, overlooks, and cultural landmarks, all while preserving the peaceful pace that has made it one of the National Park Service's most beloved roads.

Many of our guests choose to make the Trace part of their adventure, spending several days exploring its history before arriving in Natchez, where the story reaches its natural conclusion. There is no better way to appreciate the history of the American South than by following the footsteps of those who traveled this route centuries ago.

Whether you arrive by air or by way of the Natchez Trace, your journey ends in one of America's most extraordinary historic cities. We can't wait to welcome you to Natchez.
