Plan Your Trip

We are delighted to welcome you to Natchez, Mississippi, for the Living History Natchez Dickens Christmas, December 11–13, 2026. From immersive performances inside six historic homes to festive gatherings filled with music, food, and Christmas merriment, an extraordinary weekend awaits. Here is everything you need to plan your visit and make the most of your time in Natchez.

Wristband Pickup and Check-In

When you arrive, you will pick up your event wristband at the beautifully restored Vue Hotel, located at 130 John R. Junkin Drive. Perched high on the bluff overlooking the Mississippi River, The Vue will serve as our primary guest check-in location.

Your name, ticketed events, and scheduled tour departure time are already recorded on our master list. To help us move everyone through check-in quickly, please have your order number available. You can find it in the email receipt you received when purchasing your tickets.

Your wristband serves as your admission credential and will be required for entry into all tour homes and ticketed events. Please wear it throughout the weekend and do not remove it until you have attended your final event.

Additional information regarding wristband pickup hours, parking, and event check-in will be sent to ticket holders by email as the weekend approaches.

Tour Transportation and Departure Times

Guests will travel by bus between the six historic homes featured in the immersive tour. Your scheduled departure time is assigned to your reservation and will also be confirmed at check-in.

Please arrive at the designated departure location early enough to check in, locate your bus, and be ready to board before your scheduled time. Tours must remain on schedule so that each group arrives at the homes and performances at the proper time. Late arrivals may not be able to join their assigned tour once the bus has departed.

Please remember that the historic homes are private residences and are not open for independent or self-guided admission. Guests must remain with their assigned tour group throughout the experience.

Where to Stay

We are proud to recommend our new hotel partner, The Vue Hotel, and its sister property, The Bridges Hotel. Following a complete renovation, The Vue will offer comfortable accommodations in one of the most beautiful settings in Natchez, with sweeping views across the Mississippi River.

Living History Natchez guests will receive access to a special room rate through our designated reservation link. Ticket holders will receive booking information by email. We recommend reserving your room early, as accommodations throughout Natchez can fill quickly during special-event weekends.

While The Vue is undergoing renovation, please contact The Bridges Hotel with any questions regarding your reservation or stay at (601) 653-0474.

What to Wear and Bring

December weather in Natchez can vary considerably, so we recommend checking the forecast before your trip and dressing in comfortable layers. Portions of the weekend may require walking outdoors between buses, homes, churches, and event spaces.

Comfortable shoes are strongly encouraged. Many of the properties are historic and may include steps, uneven walkways, gravel drives, and original flooring. A compact umbrella or raincoat may also be helpful.

Please bring your order information, keep your phone charged, and allow additional travel time throughout the weekend. Information about accessibility needs or mobility concerns should be shared with Living History Natchez in advance so we can provide the most accurate guidance possible.

Dining, Shopping, and Exploring Natchez

We hope you will leave time to enjoy the restaurants, shops, historic sites, and remarkable hospitality that make Natchez so special. December is an especially beautiful time to experience the city, with historic homes, streets, and businesses decorated for the Christmas season.
